Center for Multilateral Trade Studies, The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) - Aran is the director of the TEPAV Center for Multilateral Trade Studies since 2012. He started to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1973 holding several diplomatic assignments. He was Permanent Representative of Turkey to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva (2007-2012). At the WTO, he chaired the Trade Policy Review Board; the Committee of Trade and Environment, and the Accession Working Committee of Belorussia, and member of the Management Board of the Advisory Centre on WTO Law (ACWL). Currently Member of The Bretton Woods Committee.
