Ronald Steenblik is a non-resident Senior Fellow for the IISD, working on issues related to international trade, including the identification, estimation, and reform of fossil fuel subsidies. Prior to joining the IISD in December 2018, he was the OECD’s Special Counselor for Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform, in which capacity he chaired the G20 peer reviews of its members’ fossil fuel subsidy reform efforts and oversaw the construction and updating of the OECD’s Inventory of Government Support to Fossil Fuels. Ronald holds a Master of Science in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
