Esri Deutschland GmbH - Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerd Buziek is Esri Deutschland’s director of communications and public affairs since 2011. He started his career in the private sector in 2000 at SICAD Geomatics, a SIEMENS company, Munich. From 2002 to 2004 he served as managing director at CeGI, Center for Geoinformation GmbH, Dortmund, to develop the Spatial Data Initiative in Northrhine-Westfalia. Buziek’s academic background is in surveying, geomatics, visualization, and communication. He serves as honorary professor at University of Hannover, Germany, since 2009. Furthermore, he is currently member of the advisory board of Jade University for Applied Sciences in Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg, Germany, member of the program commission on Earth Observation of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), first Vice President of the German Umbrella Organization of Geoinformation (DDGI), and he contributes as to the German National IT-Summit.
