El Colegio de Mexico - De Mateo is Invited Professor at El Colegio de México, where he coordinates the Programme on Trade Negotiations. Previously, he was Mexican Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization, where he served as chairman of the General Council, the Dispute Settlement Body and the Council on Services in Special Session. He was also chairman of the Trade Committee of the OECD. He served as Chief negotiator in many of Mexico’s RTAs. He was Deputy Director of the Mexican Foreign Trade Institute. He has published extensively, in particular on international economics.
