Arabo K. Ewinyu is a researcher on the Pre-Distribution and Ownership project at the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies. This project aims to understand how the structure of markets and political institutions influences distributional outcomes. The goal is to provide feasible technical solutions as alternatives to the more commonly used fiscal-based redistributive measures. Her research interests include labor economics, poverty and inequality studies, budgeting and public economies, as well as competition and regulatory economics. Before joining the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies, Arabo worked as a consultant for over ten years, where she acquired skills in collecting, evaluating, and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative economic data for clients across various sectors.
Why did you join the Solutions Lab? “To develop practical solutions for some of the world’s more complex problems and to better understand how the firm/corporation is uniquely placed to solve inequality.”
