Annalisa Prizzon is a Senior Research Fellow in the Development and Public Finance Programme at ODI. She is an accomplished and recognized expert with more than 15 years of experience researching and advising governments and multilateral agencies on policies for the allocation, effectiveness, and architecture of international public finance. Her research interests include aid allocation and development cooperation policies of bilateral and multilateral development agencies, aid instruments, the perspectives of recipient country governments on the allocation and instruments of international public finance, external public debt sustainability, financing, and governance of multilateral development banks. She has led teams advising strategy departments in several bilateral and multilateral development agencies and banks in these areas. She has an extensive number of partners and perspectives on aid policy, having worked in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America. She regularly contributes to panel discussions, expert meetings, and report reviews and moderates high-level debates on international public finance. Before joining ODI, Annalisa was an economist and policy analyst in academic institutions and international organizations (OECD and World Bank Group). She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Public Finance with a focus on external debt sustainability in low-income countries. Annalisa is a Council member of the Development Study Association (DSA), co-editor of the Development Policy Review, and member of the Committee for Development Policy for the 2022-24 term. She has been recognized as one of 100 female experts in international politics in Italy. She also served as a member of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Infrastructure in 2019 and 2020.
