CV
Anthony Kamande, a seasoned inequality and development practitioner, has been a key figure at Oxfam for over five years. In his current role as the Inequality Policy and Research Advisor, he has honed his expertise in class (vertical) economic inequality both within and between countries. His focus on policy advocacy and data analysis has been instrumental in his work. Anthony's influence is evident in his leadership of Oxfam's policy advocacy work at the international level, particularly with the World Bank and the United Nations. He engages governments, especially in Africa, on anti-inequality policies and collaborates with a wide range of influential figures, development agencies, academics, and policymakers on issues related to inequality. Anthony's extensive network and partnerships have been instrumental in his work, and he played a key role in the recent adoption of a new inequality goal at the World Bank, the first of its kind in the Bank's 80-year history. Anthony also leads the Commitment to Reducing Inequality (CRI) Index. This flagship research project, which has gained international recognition, assesses over 164 governments on their policies and actions in reducing inequality.
