I'm energized by global opportunity and optimism of cities... people who live in them, lead them, and our partners that support them in the quest for inclusive economic growth and prosperity. #MakeTechWorkForPeople! I'm Executive Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at Mastercard, and Head of Global Cities and #CityPossible. As part of City Possible, we are modernizing public transit, the future of mobility as a service, enabling inclusive access to identity and financial services, and leveraging data-driven insights to inform critical policy-making and economic growth. We are doing this through transformational partnerships with cities, companies, and academic and NGO institutions around the world. Learn more here: www.citypossible.com We have co-developed and deliver urban tech solutions including Mastercard Transit Solutions, Mastercard City Key, and Mastercard City Insights. Previously, I earned an understanding of the needs and dreams of people in cities over nearly 8 years of public service. Most recently, I served New Yorkers and Mayor Bill de Blasio as the Chief Technology Officer for the City of New York. In this role we led several key technology initiatives aimed to help NYC be the "Fairest Big City in America". - NYC Connected, bringing safe, high-quality, affordable internet to all New Yorkers. - NYC Digital, building digital services that make government work better for everyone. - NYC Forward, enabling a more responsive city with smart technologies. - NYC[x], a program that I pioneered with my team to make NYC the place for the boldest ideas in tech and transform the public-private partnership between local government and the most creative and disruptive innovators in the world. Before coming to NYC, I served as the City Chief Information Officer for the City and County of San Francisco and Executive Director of the Department of Technology and the Chief Information & Innovation Officer for the City of El Paso. As a technology entrepreneur, I founded two technology services companies. I have also enjoyed a busy public speaking schedule at major events such as TEDx, South by Southwest (SXSW), Dreamforce, Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona just to name a few. Selected to the 2020 Power of Diversity: Latino 100 and 2019 New York TECH Power 50 list, New York’s “power players” in technology. 2018 Business Transformation by Constellation Research, 2017 UTEP Outstanding 50 Hispanic Alumni and Gold Nugget Award for distinguished alumni.
